Inorganic Pyrophosphatase

Inorganic pyrophosphatase (PPase) catalyses the hydrolysis of inorganic pyrophosphate (P₂O₅) to orthophosphate (H₂PO₄⁻). It's widely used in molecular biology and biopharmaceuticals, especially in nucleic acid amplification and in vitro transcription to boost RNA yield and shift reaction equilibrium towards product formation.

In practice, PPase effectively inhibits inorganic pyrophosphate interference, improving reaction efficiency. For example, adding it to in vitro transcription reactions significantly increases mRNA yield. It's also used to remove contaminating protein PPi in SNP genotyping methods.

As a crucial tool enzyme, PPase is widely used in nucleic acid amplification, protein synthesis, and lipid metabolism due to its high efficiency and stability, playing a key role in biotechnological research and industrial production.

Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
