Recombinant Yellow Fluorescent Protein (YFP) is a genetically engineered variant of the original green fluorescent protein (GFP), optimized for enhanced brightness and spectral properties. It emits intense yellow-green fluorescence upon excitation at 525 nm, with emission at 538 nm. Its extinction coefficient (27,765 M⁻¹cm⁻¹ at 280 nm) allows precise quantification, while low endotoxin levels (<0.1 EU/μg) ensure compatibility with sensitive applications such as in vivo studies and cell culture. YFP’s versatility stems from its ability to fuse with target proteins or split into complementary fragments (YFPN/YFPC) that reassemble via leucine zippers, enabling real-time visualization of protein interactions in live cells through bimolecular fluorescence complementation (BiFC). Widely used in cellular imaging, it tracks subcellular dynamics, labels organelles, and monitors gene expression.

Reconstitute in a sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤ -20℃. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
