Recombinant Murine Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor 120

VEGF120, one of the primary splice variants of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), is a 120–amino acid polypeptide that functions as a potent mitogen for vascular endothelial cells and a key regulator of angiogenesis. Unlike the longer isoforms VEGF164 and VEGF188, VEGF120 lacks heparin-binding domains, rendering it freely diffusible in the extracellular matrix. This solubility enables it to establish concentration gradients that guide endothelial cell migration and vascular patterning during development. In mice, VEGF120 binds to the tyrosine kinase receptors VEGFR-1 (FLT-1) and VEGFR-2 (FLK-1) but does not interact with neuropilin-1, a coreceptor specific to VEGF164.

Reconstitute in a sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤ -20℃. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
